Dear Stephanie 2026
Dear Stephanie,
It's that time! The time of year where we dust off the Bike Rally dyepots and dig deep to find that extra bit of sorcery that goes into developing our annual colourway to support Team Knit in their fundraising efforts to fund the Toronto People with Aids Foundation, AIDS Community Care Montréal, Trellis HIV, and Bruce House.
This year's colourway happened a little differently. We had solid ideas and a logical process, but the witchery of the yarn and the dyes had other plans. We fought against them but they were relentless in showing us who they wanted to be this year: truly enchanting. Layers of colours you wouldn't expect to play well together just...do. The result is swirling shades of mystical, watery colours that make me think of mermaids.
Let's get this straight. We're not talking about the sad, victimized mermaids from some stories of old, but the ones from tales that speak to being in charge of their own destinies. Navigating emotions with grace, adapting to the waves that surround them. Rebelling against unrelenting environments. Making active sacrifices in service of their goals. Feeling the depths of their personal limitations, both physical and mental, all without allowing themselves to drown. These are the qualities I believe we all need, not only to do that thing that you and Team Knit does every year, but in order to navigate a world we no longer recognize.
Introducing From Gear to Eternity:

From Gear to Eternity is a tonal colourway, dyed in watery layers of blue, teal, violet, and purple. We're showing it above in (clockwise starting at top left) Magpie Sock, Linen Silk Sock Lite, Platypus Sock, and Nibbles Sock.
And here it is knit up in Platypus Sock and Magpie Sock using (bottom to top): Garter stitch, Stockinette stitch, and the Stone Dice stitch used in Kim's Bumbletee and Antiope patterns:

We hope it inspires you to keep on swimming.
Since this year’s ride is ending August 7, sales will remain open until the end date of the ride. 15% of the proceeds from each skein of Bike Rally yarn will be donated to the 2026 members of Team Knit: Ken, Jen, Fenner, Cam, and you, Steph.
